Ella Lakeland is a 11year old girl. She likes whales. She has a guinea pig called Butterscotch. Her mum is in a coma in hospital while giving birth to her little

half-brother Samson. Her step-father is Jack. She has a best friend called Sally. She is quite miserable because of her mum.  In the end of the book her mum gets better.

Appearance

Ella has shoulder-length light-brown hair which she nearly always wears in two pigtails. She also has blue eyes and fair skin. She wears a pink and white striped dress and a pink cardigan.
