Book Club Question SuggestionsEdit

Story SchoolEdit

This issue's Story School shows you how to write a story about Tracy when she was a toddler.

What do you think Tracy was like when she was tiny? Do you think she was very quiet and mouse-like and timid? I don't think so! Write down what you think she was like.

Tracy didn't always live in a children's home. She lived with her mum when she was small - but I think she went to nursery school. So let's invent the lady who runs the nursery school. What does she look like? Is she gentle and soft and very sweet to the children? Is she fierce and bossy? You decide.

Tracy has one special friend at the nursery. Is it a boy or a girl? What are they called? She also had - surprise, surprise! - a Deadly Enemy! What are they like? And why are they Tracy's Deadly Enemy?

Let's suppose Tracy and her Deadly Enemy get into an argument. What's going to happen? Do you think they'll get into a fight? This might be fun to write about. Remember all the lovely play things in nurseries, like finger paints, water, sand... two furious toddlers could cause havoc!

What's going to happen next? I think Tracy might well finish up sitting on a naughty step. So how could her special friend cheer her up at the end of the story?
